In printing, if the text is disassembled and the characters are first printed and then brushed, the plate is used as the intermediate medium for printing, and the graphic information is first transferred to the plate, and then the graphic information is transferred to the paper or through the plate. Realize large-scale replication on other substrates. As the soul of printing, plate has an indispensable contribution. As the main technology of printing-offset printing, technical development in the field of plate materials has also promoted the progress of offset printing time and time again, whether it is laser phototypesetting technology that completely ushered in the light and electricity of printing, or from the PS plate era to the CTP plate era. With the substantial increase in production efficiency brought about, plate technology has become the internal driving force of printing. Now, the most important issue facing printing is environmental protection. This has also become a problem that needs to be solved urgently in the field of plate materials. In fact, in the environmental pollution caused by printing, ink ranks first, but the dampening solution, developer waste liquid, and plate waste products are closely related to the plate. Material related.
Therefore, from the perspective of how to consider environmental protection in the field of plate materials, there are nothing more than two important directions: reducing or avoiding the generation of developer waste in the plate making process; reducing or avoiding the use of dampening solution in the printing process, and this fits perfectly. The current three major environmental technology directions in the field of CTP plates: free (chemical) processing plates, waterless printing plates, and inkjet CTP plates.
Free (chemical) processing plate
In the past, it was necessary to use the imagesetter to make a PS plate into a PS plate for printing. The film is a silver salt photosensitive material that contains silver ions, and the waste fixing solution after fixing also contains a large amount of silver ions. If these substances enter the environment directly , Heavy metal silver ions can pollute natural water bodies and cause harm to the environment. At the same time, the base of the film is a polymer compound, which is extremely difficult to degrade in the environment and pollute the soil. The use of CTP technology has greatly reduced this environmental pollution, but the development of waste liquid is still unavoidable. Although there have been development waste liquid purification and plate-washing water circulation equipment, the environmental protection effect is still limited. Moreover, domestic regulations on the recycling of waste liquid from printing enterprises are relatively lacking, and the discharge of waste liquid from most printing enterprises is very random.
For this reason, environmentally friendly plates that reduce or avoid the generation of developer waste in the plate-making process-free (chemical) processing plates came into being. The so-called chemical treatment-free plate material means that there is no need for the use of chemicals in the development process. Generally, water or non-toxic plate material cleaning agent is used for treatment, so that the treatment liquid can be discharged freely without pollution. However, the completely treatment-free plate material does not even need to use water or cleaning agent. After the plate is made on the plate making machine, it is printed directly on the machine, which completely cuts off the water pollution during the plate making process.
In fact, a number of plate manufacturers have introduced non-(chemical) processing plate products, and most of them have entered the stage of market sales. For example, Agfa’s Azura and Amigo non-chemical processing plates, Fuji’s Brillia HD PRO series non-processing plates, Kodak’s Thermal Direct negative thermal processing plates, and the new FIT eCO plates are completely free of processing. However, these products are still in the initial stage of promotion in the Chinese printing market. Because the products have not yet been mass-produced, the cost of plate materials cannot be reduced, and printing companies are unwilling to bear higher costs. On the other hand, it is also related to the lack of adaptability of the (chemical) processing plate material to the existing printing conditions, which may increase the difficulty of plate making, increase the related costs, or cause more problems in the use of the plate material, and the performance of the plate material is not as good as that of the traditional plate. Material, leading to a low level of customer enthusiasm for use.
